BONUS: COME SEE THE 'WORKS

Download playlist here.

Happy birthday America. It's been a long strange trip. You've had your highs and lows, triumphs and failures, moments of pride and shame, but you made it. You're old and I live inside of you. Congrats to both of us.

To celebrate this explosive occasion, traditionally marked by excessive drinking and fire in the sky, I present you with a playlist of classic folk and blues. It's one part old school hobo-folk, one part rural/delta blues, and one part 60's/70's folk revival. It is by no means glorious, glamorous, or amorous. It is a representation of what I consider the most beautiful part of America: the haunting lonesome underbelly filled with wanderlust and ever-enduring faith. So, there that is. Obviously not for everybody, but this is a special thing between me and my country. Enjoy! Now go get drunk and fight a foreigner.
