#24: FRANKIE SAYS

Download playlist here.

The past couple weeks have been eventful and stressful. A lot of good and a lot of horrible things have happened. This seems like an appropriate time as any to just turn my brain off for awhile. This is the type of music I listen to when it's time to power down. I hope you can enjoy it and find some relaxation.

Most of this is stuff I listened to about a year ago. It's almost entirely instrumental. You could call it ambient but I when I think of ambient I think of Brian Eno's music for furniture. This is close to that but not quite as atmospheric. Bonobo, Aphex Twin,  and Com Truise definitely have a certain drive to them that pushes things forward. Brenk Sinatra and Clams Casino are more on the hip-hop production side of things. They do create nice environments for their heavy beats though. Balam Acab, Active Child, and Zammuto are on another level, doing some really crazy cool stuff. Eluvium is about as close as this playlist comes to ambient, minimalist composition. Check it all out and see what you dig!
