#23: IN WITH THE OLD, IN WITH THE NEW

Download playlist here.

I'm always happy to nurture anyone's love of music. Learning other people's favorite bands, favorite tracks, new passions and old standbys is possibly the best way to grow as a lover of music. It's important to keep an open mind and not shut yourself off as soon as someone says "Hey, check out this track." Music should be a communal experience.

In that spirit, this week Swiss Cheese & Bullets features another fantastic guest playlist. This one comes from my good friend Caitlin, a supporter of the blog since it's earlier days. It's packed full of bluesy riffs and raw energy. Though I didn't get a break down from Caitlin, it seems to be a mixture of both old and new. With some throw-backs like Otis Redding and Jimi Hendrix nestled in between fresh tracks from The Black Keys and Dan Auerbach. There's also a track from The xx thrown in there, because why the hell not? That band is awesome.

Please enjoy and keep your eyes peeled for a couple more posts this week.

1. She's Long Gone - The Black Keys
2. Like a Rolling Stone (Live at Monterey Pop) - Jimi Hendrix Experience
3. Darkness - Tab Benoit
4. Paint It, Black - The Rolling Stones
5. Midnight in Her Eyes - The Black Keys
6. When the Night Comes - Dan Auerbach
7. When the Lights Go Out - The Black Keys
8. Crystalised - The xx
9. These Arms of Mine - Otis Redding
10. The Prowl - Dan Auerbach
11. Bring It On Home To Me - Sam Cooke
12. Things Ain't Like They Used to Be - The Black Keys
13. What'd I Say - Ray Charles
