Soul music is arguably my favorite genre of music. It's got a rawness and sensitivity coupled with a danceable rhythm powerful melodies. In honor me doing this blog for ten weeks without royally screwing it up, here is an awesome playlist of Southern Soul. As opposed to the soul coming out of Detroit and Motown, Southern Soul is heavily influenced by Blues, Gospel and Spirituals. There are definitely some names you will recognize on here but there are also a few that have been forgotten. Enjoy, and thanks again for listening.
